Excitement builds as tickets go on sale: Edmonton to host Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge in summer 2023

A city renowned for its love of sports is gearing up to welcome the Beach Pro Tour for the first time.

Edmonton, Canada – May 29, 2023 – The city is getting ready to welcome some of the best beach volleyball players in the world as host of the Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Challenge. This exciting event, which will bring the beach to the city will take place from 20 – 23 July. With the participation of some of the world’s top players, attendees are guaranteed to witness spectacular displays of skill and athleticism.

Tickets will be available to purchase beginning Wednesday, May 31 at 10:00 AM at ticketmaster.ca.

The Volleyball World BPT is a unique event that combines sports, entertainment, and fun. Offering outstanding beach volleyball matches, live music, and a festival-like atmosphere, the tournament promises to keep fans entertained day and night. Adding to the excitement, the Fan Park ICE District, located in the heart of downtown Edmonton, will serve as the epicenter of the event.

Among the notable teams to watch out for in the tournament are Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes from Canada. This dynamic duo, both Tokyo 2020 Olympians, has a track record of success and aims to secure their first BPT podium finish as a team. With previous notable achievements before joining forces at the end of 2022, they are sure to be a formidable force on the sand.

Another Canadian pair to watch is Daniel Dearing and Samuel Schachter. Having joined forces recently, they have already achieved impressive results, including a podium finish at the NORCECA Tour Finals and a strong showing at the Commonwealth Games. Their fifth-place finish at the La Paz Challenge propelled them into the top 30 of the FIVB World Ranking, making them contenders to watch in Edmonton.
