Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge Event Guide

The city is getting ready to welcome some of the best beach volleyball players in the world as host of the Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Challenge. This exciting event, which will bring the beach to the city will take place from 20 – 23 July. With the participation of some of the world’s top players, attendees are guaranteed to witness spectacular displays of skill and athleticism.

The Volleyball World BPT is a unique event that combines sports, entertainment, and fun. Offering outstanding beach volleyball matches, live music, and a festival-like atmosphere, the tournament promises to keep fans entertained day and night. Adding to the excitement, the Fan Park ICE District, located in the heart of downtown Edmonton, will serve as the epicenter of the event.

Tournament Formula

The Challenge level tournament of the Beach Pro Tour is a feeder to the Elite16 level events including 24 teams, with players challenging and battling on the sand to gain ranking points.

The competition format has 24 teams per gender in the Main Draw with modified pool play followed by a single elimination tournament over four to five days of competition for a total of 80 matches for double gender events. Up to 32 teams can take part in qualifiers to advance to the Main Draw.

Tournament Policies

  • The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour will take place RAIN or SHINE. All acts of advertising have confirmed their appearance; however, acts are subject to change without advance notice. There will be no refunds or exchanges resulting from festival schedule changes. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour is not responsible for lost, stolen, or forgotten passes.
  • No photo, video, or audio recording equipment aside from CELL PHONES are allowed (no detachable lenses, tripods, selfie-sticks).
  • The tournament venue is a non-smoking venue, except in the assigned designated smoking area
  • No outside food & beverages allowed. Concessions and bars are available.
  • No pets allowed
  • No weapons and fireworks allowed
  • Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone at our discretion
  • Help keep the festival site looking great by cleaning up your trash and empties throughout the day.
  • All patrons are subject to being searched as a condition of entry.

Re-Entry Policy

ICE District Central Parkade

Brightly lit & security patrolled, the ICE District Central Parkade has hundreds of heated spaces and convenient access to Rogers Place and located on the north side of 103 Ave just west of 103 St. The parkade offers 6’10” (2.08 m) clearance and quick indoor access to Rogers Place via the ICE District Central Parkade P1 elevator or through the Stantec Tower Level Two pedway.

Smoking & Cannabis Policy

For the enjoyment of all of our guests, ICE District is a smoke-free environment. All forms of smoking, including the use of cannabis products and electronic cigarettes (vaping), are not permitted on ICE District property.

Is this a family friendly event

  • Yes, this is an all ages event.

Can I leave and re-enter the event area?

  • Fans will receive a stamp upon entry into the event area and will be able to exit and re-enter throughout the day.

Do you accept cash on-site?

  • This will be a cashless event, please plan accordingly for your trip.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages?

  • No, outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the event area.

Can I bring a water bottle?

  • Yes, fans are allowed to bring in empty, soft-sided water bottles to Fan Park where water stations will be available on site.

Can I bring my pet?

  • Unfortunately, no, pets (with the exception of service animals) are not permitted on site.

Will there be food and beverage available on site?

  • Yes, food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the event area.

Can I take photos and videos?

  • Absolutely! We encourage you to take photos of your experience at Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Don’t forget to tag us @IceDistrict
  • ICE District welcomes all guests to capture their moments through the permitted use of non-professional, non-flash still photography as long as the lens does not exceed 3” (detachable or non-detachable).

I found a lost item, where should I take it?

  • Guests who have lost or found an item can bring the item to any staff working the event located by the entrance.

I have lost an item, where can I find it?

  • If you are still on site, check in with the box office during operational hours
  • Guests inquiring about a lost item post-event can visit the Rogers Place Box Office during open hours or contact our team by emailing info@icedistrict.com or calling 780-414-LIVE (5483).

Where can I purchase tickets?

Is my general admission ticket transferable?

  • Tickets for individual days will be transferable through your Ticketmaster Account
  • Visit https://www.ticketmaster.ca/ and click Sign In in the upper right.

Is the entire event outdoors?

  • Yes, the event and all activities take place outdoors. Don’t forget to dress for the weather!

Are umbrellas allowed for the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour?

  • While guests are encouraged to plan for the weather and bring their own umbrellas, please note that umbrellas with pointed tops will not be permitted on the site.

Is there a place to sit or rest?

  • There will be opportunities throughout the event site to sit down or rest and limited bleacher seating will be available.
  • Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating during the day.

Will restrooms be available on-site?

  • Yes, public washrooms are available onsite.

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

  • Yes! The site will be wheelchair accessible.We offer the accessible viewing deck to fans on a first come, first served basis.

Will you run the event if the forecast is calling for bad weather?

  • Outdoor event cancellation may occur should dangerous conditions arise (i.e. lightning in the area, winds greater than 50 km/hr or temperatures -20 or lower including wind chill).
  • We will make announcements on social media as well as this webpage with updates. Stay tuned to @IceDistrict across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates.
  • If there is a cancellation for your time slot, Ticketmaster will issue a refund to the original purchase account.
