NHL Playoff Excitement Returns To ICE District
April 12, 2023 (Edmonton, Alberta) – The Edmonton Oilers have clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Edmonton’s ICE District will once again be the centre of the action.
OEG Sports & Entertainment announced today two outdoor playoff watch parties this season—the Ford Tailgate Party in Fan Park @ ICE District and the Scotiabank Playoff Plaza in ICE District Plaza. Both events will feature food and beverages, pre- and post-game entertainment, win your way in ticket giveaways, prizes, Oilers alumni, prominent media and social media personalities, the Orange and Blue Ice Crew, Hunter, other special guests and the game broadcast on giant screens. The Ford Tailgate Party in Fan Park @ ICE District will also feature a massive main stage, live bands, patio games, drink specials and bleachers.
“After reaching capacity in ICE District Plaza on multiple occasions last season, we now have two exciting options for fans to experience playoff home games throughout ICE District and cheer on the team together,” said Stuart Ballantyne, President and Chief Operating Officer, Rogers Place and ICE District. “Come on down to Fan Park or ICE District Plaza and let’s show the hockey world which team has the best, most passionate fans in the game. The energy throughout ICE District will be electric and you don’t want to miss out.”
Gates to Fan Park and ICE District Plaza open on home game days two hours before puck drop. Admission is free of charge, but space is limited so fans should arrive early to secure a spot.
Fans attending the Ford Tailgate Party in Fan Park @ ICE District are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to support our new Fan Park Food Donation Program led by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and Edmonton’s Food Bank.
For away games, fans can purchase tickets for $5 to the Rogers Road Game Watch Party inside of Rogers Place, and enjoy all the amenities and food and beverage services. Net ticket proceeds for road game watch parties will go to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation in support of local charities across Oil Country. Tickets will be available at EdmontonOilers.com/tickets.
