New Years Eve
December 4, 2024 (Edmonton, Alberta) – OEG Sports & Entertainment announced today that Canadian country music star Owen Riegling and Canadian YEEDM DJ Vavo will be headlining New Year’s Eve @ ICE District, on Wednesday, December 31 in ICE District Plaza. The performances will begin with Owen Riegling taking the stage following the matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Boston Bruins at Rogers Place, followed by a special midnight set from Vavo, with giant countdown screens and fireworks at midnight.
Fans can head to ICE District Plaza starting at 6:00 PM for an Oilers pre-game tailgate party and watch party, where the Oilers game will be broadcasted on the giant outdoor screen – along with food, drinks, a DJ and chances to win great prizes.
Admission to New Year’s Eve @ ICE District is free of charge, but space is limited so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot.
Last year’s celebration saw thousands pack ICE District Plaza for an unforgettable party and send off to 2024.
This year, ICE District will be the Western Canada anchor location for CBC’s Live Cross-Canada Countdown. The live special begins at 6:00 PM MT on CBC News Network, CBC Gem, the CBC News app, cbcnews.ca, the CBC News streaming channel and the CBC News YouTube channel, with live coverage beginning on CBC TV, the local CBC News streaming channels, CBC Radio and CBC Listen at 7:00 PM MT.
